 Beekeeping in Uganda

Most  beekeepers in Uganda are still using traditional methods ,however much beekeeping has become part of agriculture in Uganda,a lot of intervention is needed to develop the sector.

First all the apicultural  policies are not working ,traditional methods and poor practices used by farmers ,Uganda has got fake /false team players in the sector, the cost of bee inputs is high ,farmers are not exposed to sector opportunities ,too much corruption in the sector among leaders and team players. If those issues are not worked on we are most likely to stay in the position. Our honey  production is still very the low ,the biggest percent of honey consumed in Uganda,it comes from Congo via west Nile ,however the team players lye that it comes from Arua.

We as Native Products ltd,we came up with an idea of promoting the transitional hive which is affordable to low income earners because it made using the available materials in our areas.

Transtional hive is a combination of of Topbar hive and traditional hive ,however you can get the honey you would have gotten in Top bar hive.We encourage farmers to use it.
